Postgraduate Academic Literacy Workshops

The Postgraduate Academic Literacy Workshops aim to help postgraduate coursework students become successful communicators in academic settings.

The curriculum for these workshops is based on extensive research in the area of academic literacies.

NEW Saturday Session

Writing at University 

This workshop presents an overview of academic writing issues that are particularly relevant to commencing students. It will introduce some of the topics that are more fully explored in the above workshops and the Academic Literacy for Postgraduate Students (ALPS) website. 

No bookings are required for this session. Just drop in.

Learning Skills Workshops

These workshops are designed with the needs of first year undergraduate students in mind. However the basic principles covered in these workshops may be helpful for postgraduate coursework students who are returning to university after a long break or commencing a new area of study.

Overview of Learning Skills Workshops - Semester 1 (PDF)

What to expect:

  • It is a 50-minute workshop with a maximum of 30 participants.
  • There are opportunities to work and interact in small student groups facilitated by the Learning Adviser.
  • No extra work will be assigned.
